  • Hadobogee and cousins

Hadobogee came by and riled everyone up.  Skylars infamous attack face – kill toddler, kill!

  • Woof woof

As most of you already know I’ve been working on a startup called ‘RantRally‘. It’s a social networking site where you can add audio to the web.

Last week I was in the driveway playing in the car with Skylar when Taco started barking. I dialed the RantRally 1-800 number and left the following doggie impression by Skylar. Below is the embedded audio taken from the site (http://RantRally.com/project/site/featured/582):

  • Video a day: Playground

Skylar and I spend lots of time at the playground. We usually go as soon as daddy gets home, so that mommy can rest with Parker.

Sky was particularly chatty this day, though there is a lot of playground gossip to discuss. Did you hear that Amy went down the slide on her belly?! How ridiculous! Also, Tyler was eating mulch, he so needs the fiber…

  • Video a day: The Park

As part of my video a day, I shot Skylar and I at the Park just down from our house. And yes, those are my pajamas. And yes, it was 5:00 in the afternoon.

  • Parkers first visitors

Parker had lots of visitors his first and second day of life. Keeping busy from day one – that’s how we start them!

  • Skylar haircut

Mommy thought Skylar was looking too feral having gone almost 1.5 years without a haircut, so we got our first major trim.  Below are pics of the freshly cropped do at our Church playground.

  • Mulch Monster

    Mulch and its many uses:

    1. As filler on playgrounds to cushion the ground and prevent mud from forming.
    2. To keep ticks away from play areas.
    3. A toy for throwing, sweeping, and otherwise covering your entire body in.

    Skylar prefers #3.

  • Clemyjontri Park

Excuse me while I digress back through some images that haven’t been posted yet. Tonight I went though 1 years worth of photos deleting blurry / bad images to clear out space. Apparently we are accumulating 100-200 gigs of family photos per year.

I’m planning on building a rig to contain them all and needed to figure out how much space to plan for – and the answer is alot 🙂

Here are pics of Skylar at Clemyjontri Park in Mclean. The owner of Comstock’s father-in-law, aka the founder of NVR homes, dedicated the park via a donation of a few million bucks. It’s one of the nicest children’s parks in the U.S. with roughly an acre of padded walking, a carousel, and tons of giant size toys to play on.

  • Parker Ryland Harris

Took this with my phone to send out to family and co-workers. This was taken in the recovery room about 30 minutes after birth.

Parker is doing great – he’s an excellent eater just like his older sister. However, mom is not getting much rest between feeding times! Hopefully they will start to space out over the next couple weeks.

  • Baby boy

Susan and I are struggling to choose a name for baby boy. They come home tomorrow so we’ll have to figure it out shortly.

This time around has been very different from before – at least for me. Having Skylar was an adventure. Sleeping at the hospital every night. Figuring out how to game the system to get extra diapers and food. Meeting with nurses and lactation consultants – first poops, first hair wash, figuring it all out.

I haven’t been a part of any of it this time. In 4 days I’ve gotten maybe 5 minutes to hold the baby. I’ve been at home with Skylar, and Susan is a pro at all the things we had to figure out the first time.

I’ve gotten more sleep but it’s been a lot more work. Trying to keep the house clean, Skylar fed, and traveling to and from the hospital has been exhausting in it’s own way.

Skylar and I have gotten some really good quality time. She and I definitely have a special bond and I’ve enjoyed my time with her.
