Parker & Daddy Burke Lake
While Skylar attending her gymnastics sessions Parker and I would frequently go to Burke Lake. When the weather was warm enough we’d go out on the water with the paddle boards, which often turned into a wrestling match whereby one or both of us would end up in the water.
Sometimes we’d ride bikes and occassionally we’d play in the sand on the volley ball courts.
On this particular day we got caught on the water in a rain storm! When the weather was bad we’d go to laser tag – with Parker typically being the last man standing, regardless of who we played against. Parker go his shirt wet, so I’m pretty sure he’s wearing his sisters grey shirt in that video game photo.

School concert
Skylar had her final school concert and Parker got to participate with her at his first concert. You can see the difference between 3 years of experience or lack thereof on their faces 🙂

Fountainhead Park
We frequently passed signs for Fountainhead Park on the way to Burke Lake last year when Parker and I would head to Burke Lake while Skylar was at gymnastics. We finally went there with the paddle boards and checked it out. Nice park, lots of bike trails in additional to a lot of water area to explore. The only negative was there were a ton of rowers and we almost got run over at one point.

Parker Birthday
Nana and Poppa D came up to celebrate Parker’s birthday with us. We had all Parky’s favorite foods – london broil, mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole and a very specific ice cream cake that I had to drive to Herndon to get.

KeyStone Colorado Spring Break
We traveled to Keystone for Spring Break. It’s about a 2 hour car ride from Denver and when we were 20 minutes away it started snowing and traffic grinded to a halt. We spent another 2 hours in the car going that remaining 20 minutes. I learned “Swag in Ohio” and there was a lot of laughing and Parker running outside the car.
Skylar got some daddy / daughter time by visiting a nearby book store and doing some shopping in the evenings after skiing was over. Parker and I went to the pool each afternoon. I hit just under 60 mph on the EPIC app coming down the last face headed into the village. Super fun!
We watched Wacanda Forever and Parker peed on a really nice leather chair. He’s kinda like the lab I had growing up – if he laughs too hard pee is going to come out. It’s inevitable. We should have learned better by now.
We had to get up at 3:30am to catch ourDlight back and the airport was still crazy busy. With just barely enough time to get to our flight we picked up some McD’s and I was reminded that I will never eat there EVER again. Super expensive for crappy food. What happened to cheap and fast?
I must have spent 2 hours playing the onboard video game in the seat rest and I got so far that I glitched the game. United – I’ll take my free flights for life, thank you.

Egret on creek hike to LakeVale
Parker and I saw an Egret while hiking between Glencroft and LakeVale. A few times after school while Skylar was at dance I asked Parker what he wanted to do and it was hiking between the neighborhoods.

General Silliness: Papi Ring Beak
I think Skylar was rearranging her mood/message board and somehow what got left was “Papi ring beak” which I’m pretty sure started with “Happy Spring Break”. Regardless, hilarity ensued.
