  • Lexington and W. VA trip

We stayed at the Yogi campsite in Lexington for our second summer and visited with Nana and Poppa D for Skylar’s birthday. Unfortunately the campground had removed the floats and activities from the pond due to insurance premiums going up. Boo!

We were able to enjoy the campground without incident, mainly because I did not rent a golf cart this year… After Lexington we drove on to West Virginia and enjoyed an activity lake that was 100x larger than the one that was at the campsite, so no losses there.

  • Skylar 2023 Dive Team

Skylar transitioned seamlessly into dive team given her background in gymnastics and dance. Her first season on the team she made it into divisional’s.

  • Surf Camp VA Beach

Ryan and his cousin Maddox from Texas, came with us to Va Beach surf camp. Everybody caught some waves and every night we got some treats.

Mangoholic has become one of our go-to spots. They have an instagram wall and delish treats. Skylar tried on some clothes / hats and entertained herself and us 😉

We stayed at Ocean Key resort – our new Va beach home away from home.

  • Skylar – dive team

Skylar decided to try dive team this year. With her gymnastics background she was able to make quick headway and got accepted into invitationals at the end of the year.

  • Algonkian Park Island Float

We met Ryan, Paul, Hillary, John, Abby, and Rebecca for some fun at Algonkian Park. I brought the floating island and the Wilkenfeld’s brought the concessions.

The kids played on the inflatable paddle boards and raft, while the adults sat under the shade and tried not to float down river.

  • Father’s Day – WoodStock Tower camping

We went camping at Woodstock tower for Father’s Day. We went up the fire tower twice, because Parker couldn’t quite muster up the courage to do it on day 1 and he wanted another chance to defeat his fears. He did make it to the top on day 2, and he quickly made is way back down.

Skylar and I found a trail that led to some people who were para-gliding off the side of the mountain. They were waiting for the wind to get perfect before they took off, but I wish I had grabbed a picture of them, because it was really cool to see.

  • Skylar – LAES graduation

Skylar graduated from 6th grade Louise Archer Elementary. Big Day!!!! Daddy’s little girl is growing up 🙂

We had a party at the house later that Skylar helped put together. Her friends played a pop the balloon game where you have to do what the message inside the balloon says, they had a water balloon toss, and they sang songs on the trampoline.

  • Algonkian Park

We spent a couple summers using the paddle boards and swimming in the local parks (including the ones you’re not really allowed to swim at) and we took lots of friends with us on our adventures.

This particular weekend had our neighbor Ellie, who we kind of adopted at times, for a day at Algonkian on the water. Ellie had a habit of coming over and then never leaving, but we always enjoyed her company 😉
