  • Parker’s blue bunny suit

I can’t imagine the conversations at the company that makes these suits:

Bob: It’s blue, fuzzy, and for 8-12 month old babies. What kind of ears do we put on it?
Steve: Rabbit. It’s gotta be rabbit ears. Everyone loves Rabbits.
Jane: Steve, you’re a moron – rabbit ears are so 1990’s. We have to go with panda ears. Panda’s are way more cuddly and fuzzy. Have you seen panda dogs?
Bob: Listen, we’ll cross rabbit ears with panda ears and everybody is happy.

  • Halloween In The ‘Hood

We celebrated Halloween this year at a kids party on our block.  It’s an annual thing and our awesome neighbors do a great job putting it together.  All the kids from the ‘hood come out before going trick or treating and it’s a good time for adults as well.  Here are some pics of Skylar…she wore ladybug wings and matching tutu, which was difficult to see under her jacket.  The striped leg warmers were my favorite.

  • Halloween Super-hero

Skylar was originally supposed to be a fairy, but she refused to wear the requisite tutu (I don’t blame her) so we went with our backup option: Super-Skylar!

  • Natural beauty

This is a testament to two things: the natural beauty that surrounds us everyday at any moment, and also the ridiculous technological improvements in cameras.

I took this one night around 10:00pm from the middle of the street just outside our house. No streetlights or artificial light other than 2 porch lights on the front of my neighbors house that the camera picked up in the tree leaves.

For camera nerds this was shot at: f8, 32 second exposure, ISO 800. Beautiful starry night 🙂

  • Parker eats solids

Eat the food or just smear it all over my face.

  • Rain boots

    Freshly rained on street: check
Brand new “Hello Kitty” rain boots: check
    Shirt and pants: not necessary.

  • Lexington Video

Hanging out at Rose Farm Hill Ln.  Or is it Rose Hill Farm Ln?  Or was it Rosehill Farm?  This is the conversation I have everything time I try to set the GPS, which by the way has no idea of any of those addresses :)-

  • Parker Baptism – Lexington

It was such a good time to spend a weekend with Nana and Poppa D!  Skylar also got to play with her cousins for a little bit on Sunday before we had to jump on the road to coordinate with nap schedules.  Taco also had a great time and probably started getting used to being an outdoor doggie.  No herding cows on this trip though 🙂

  • Daddy’s new camera

My camera was 7 years old and in digital years that’s like a millennium.  I finally bit the bullet and got a new SLR that also shoots video.

The image quality for stills is slightly better but the video it shoots is unbelievable.  YouTube can’t do it justice – but it’s almost broadcast / Hollywood quality.

It takes some practice and knowledge to get good results, but it’s crazy to think that for not that much money you can create your own Indie movies and no one will know you didn’t spend a million dollars to make it 🙂

  • Giraffe head

Skylar – you have  a Giraffe on your head.  Grrrrr….

She actually wasn’t growling at me, I think that’s the face she makes when she’s doing her fake smile face, but it definitely looks menacing.  That’s one crazy looking Giraffe!
