  • Showtime at the Newseum

We watched a scary 3d movie at the Newseum.  Probably not D.C.’s best museum option for kids – although I thoroughly enjoyed it.  We had gotten free tickets through Gannett.

  • Cox Farms

Farming in urban / suburban areas has basically become what I like to term agri-entertainment.  Not sure that there was any real farming going on other than keeping a few livestock and cornfields functioning in order for us suburbanite tourists to see them.

Cox had a dozen massive slides, multiple pumpkin smashing contests, an alien corn maze, rope swings, free apple cider, hay ride, and just like cheesy art museums – you exit through the gift shop.

I shouldn’t be so cynical, I’m happy that the Cox family is able to hang on to what land they have left and provide an outdoor somewhat agricultural entertainment day for my kids.  Check out the pics:

  • Cox Farms

Nothing is better than Cox farms in the fall. They have slides, an alien maze, pumpkin bashing, and beautiful fall foliage.

  • Halloween on Safa Ct

It was actually Halloween across from Safa Ct, because the neighborhood across from us is where the potluck / kids reside.  Skylar had a fun time, I got to eat some awesome chilli, and we got pounds of candy – life is good!

FYI – I was Chase and Skylar was Marshall from Paw Patrol.  Chase is on the case!

  • Lexington childrens museum

On the way to Nana and Poppa D’s house we stopped at a children’s museum. Such a fun age to explore fun stuff!

  • Lexington Fall Trip

We visited Lexington to celebrate Horaces 10 year anniversary with Oxford Church.  They had a lovely reception after church on Sunday including a pot luck with tons of good food, and speeches from several of those who are close to Horace.

The kids still love playing on the tractors.  Wish we had more time to have visited the mountain property and our favorite park.  Maybe next trip.

  • Virginia Beach

The kids loved the water.  Initially we tried to get the kids to both sleep in the same bed, but that didn’t end up so well, we each night we would switch off who got to sleep with mommy or daddy.

  • G-Town Pirates

We took a Georgetown pirate boat ride one weekend.  Sometimes you have to do the touresty things in your own backyard. There was a really fun water sprinkler that we ran through as well.
