A short video to capture the insanity of dad’s basement while the kids were opening presents. I literally couldn’t move.

Christmas in Culpeper
We visited Grandpa’s house first and opened more presents on the day after Christmas. There were 38 people there, including over a dozen kids! It was complete chaos. Later we went to Uncle Gillette’s and visited with Nanna and Poppa D.

Miracle on Safa Ct – Christmas
Mommy’s big gift this year was a movie by Skylar and Parker. We followed the ups and downs of the two young children as they try to find the right gift for their mom. Will they succeed, or will the Grinch steal Christmas… In the end, love triumphs all.
Rated GC – for Gratuitous Cuteness.

Ocean City – Phone Shots
Mr sandman. Breakfast time! Buried treasure Surfing Hawaii 5-0 Ride that surf board. Caught 2 fishes down by the beach. I got this ducky on, just in case a wave hits and washes me away. Lifeguard Skylar reporting for duty. Super-hero pose! The boys just chilling. Def caught that one! Ta-da! -
Ocean City
We went to the beach for a week with Halmonee. Skylar and Parker stomped on waves, jumped them, screamed at them, and did the “butt-butt” on them.
Skylar had a boogie board and we “rode” the waves every day.
Lots of fun in the sun. We also played in the pool and visited the boardwalk where we got ice cream and checked out some cool sand art.
Parker wore his Buzz Lightyear costume and as we walked I heard random “Go Buzz!” hollars from the neighboring hotel rooms.

July 4th 2015
We went to Lexington for July 4th this year. There is a hot air balloon festival at VMI where they have tethered rides, launches, vendors, and bounce house/ slides setup. We went to VMI and W&L on Friday – a day before all the festivities and toured the grounds.
Parker was especially concerned with dying and dead people after visiting the tomb of Robert E. Lee – not sure what set him off, but I did have to reassure him for the next 48 hours that he would not ‘die’.
That afternoon we went to the Moorey river for a swim. Parker and Skylar had never been in a river before and they were apprehensive at first, but then giggled and laughed, running from the shore to me in knee deep water. Taco even went for a swim after possibly mis-gauging the water, swimming a couple feet toward us, and then turning around for shore. She, like the kids, preferred to run in, turn around and run back.
Saturday started off a bit gloomy and then warmed up. That evening we went to the home farm, where Horace grew up, and took part in Dale and Sonia’s yearly July 4th shindig. I’d guess there were 150 people there. We went on a couple hay rides, ate some catered BBQ, drank beer, and waited for the sun to set.
They put on a fireworks display that rivaled any town production. Susan adorned Skylar and Parker in roughly 200 glow in the dark snap rings. They looked like little radioactive rave toddlers running about – but we didn’t lose them!
Thanks Mom, Horace, Dale and Sonia for a great 4th!

Dutch Wonder Vids
Despite what appears to be the occasional grimace, Skylar loved this ride! Not sure why the people next to me seemed to think that telling their kid that the big man in the middle was an Oriole’s fan would make them not be scared – everyone knows Oriole’s fans are horrid people…
Yes – those are panda bears and yes – that is a honey pot. I thought panda’s ate bamboo – but they are bears and we all know that bears love honey:

Dutch Wonderland
Last weekend we went to Dutch Wonderland! Apparently Lancaster County, PA has figured out it’s niche – young kids. Dutch Wonderland is like Kings Dominion, but for ages 3-8.
Skylar and Parker had a blast. Friday night we stayed at the hotel and swam in the pool. Then Sat. morning we got up bright and early for a full day at the park.
We checked out animatronic dinosaurs, drove cars, rode tons of rides, and finished it all off with a snow cone!
Later that evening we enjoyed some authentic Dutch food at the local all you can eat buffet run by Asians. Love those Dutch crab legs!
