  • Quasi modo

Parker and I were cracking up one evening playing on the trampoline and doing Quasi Modo voices.

  • Treasure hunt

I hid the kids candy and left them clues one day after school. Can Skylar and Parker find the one-piece??!!!

  • Parker / Daddy Burke Lake

Parker and I spent a lot of time at Burke Lake from the fall of 2021 into summer of 2022. Skylar had gymnastics 2x a week on Fridays and Sundays for 2 hours, so Parker and I would visit Burke Lake. We played in the sand at the volley ball courts, rode bikes around the lake one day (and night as it got very dark before we finished), and played on the lake.

  • First Paddle Board

I had bought an inflatable kayak on a whim and Parker and I enjoyed it immensely, mainly going around Burke Lake during Skylar’s gymnastics practice. John Miner had taken us out on inflatable paddle boards and that was even more fun, so I bit the bullet and bought one to try it out even though we were going into October.

Luckily we got a warm day to try it out and everyone had a blast! So much so that we had to get a second one for the upcoming spring season 🙂

  • Zava Zone

The kids and I went to Zava Zone in Sterling. It’s one of their favorite indoor play places. We went there from Thom and Teri’s house right before heading over to our new house on Glencroft in Vienna.

  • Uncle Thom and Aunt Teri’s

The kids spent a few nights with me in Leesburg at Uncle Thom and Aunt Teri’s. We had daddy breakfast’s, played golf at TopGolf, and our pet deer came by for a visit.

  • Daddy summer vacation 2021

Our vacation started with a fast break from Vienna as it was the only way I could get the kids overnight. Regardless, we had a lovely trip that started with spending the afternoon with Grandpa. We rode the side-by-side and had dinner before departing to Uncle Gillette’s house.

We went out on the boat with Uncle Gillette and Mason the following day and then departed for Virginia Beach. We spent lots of fun time at the ocean, visited a water park, enjoyed breakfast at a place called BadAss coffee – which the kids thought was hilarious, and we concluded our last day with a trip to a black light mini-golf course that we were allowed to play multiple times because apparently no one plays min-golf at 10:30am on a Saturday morning…

We ate breakfast almost 3 times a day each day, because who doesn’t love breakfast!

  • Skylar 11th birthday

Skylar and Parker met with Nana and Poppa D at their favorite restaurant, Jinya Ramen, at the Reston Town Center to celebrate Skylar’s 11th birthday. Parker was taken to a play date afterwards and Skylar came to Leesburg to open presents and spend the night at Uncle Thom and Aunt Teri’s house. We also had a lovely visit with the Leesburg Police around 11pm. Thanks for the birthday wishes Leesburg PD 🙂

  • Climbing gym in Maryland

In July we visited a climbing gym in Maryland. All the routes have different themes and it’s one of my favorite places to take the kids. At the end of the day they had fun after being exhausted by lying on the floor – slayed by the climbing route!

  • Xander Miner – paintball birthday

Xander invited Parker and I to his birthday party at a paintball facility somewhere 45 minutes West of Vienna. Parker and Xander were both the top shooting kids and faced off as the final two last standing at least a couple times.

Parker took a shot to the neck and sat out one round, but recovered and came back for more blood / aka paint. It was a total adrenalin rush, and I mistakingly shot more than a few people as they were walking off the field from getting hit. Oops…
