Mulch and its many uses:
- As filler on playgrounds to cushion the ground and prevent mud from forming.
- To keep ticks away from play areas.
- A toy for throwing, sweeping, and otherwise covering your entire body in.

Excuse me while I digress back through some images that haven’t been posted yet. Tonight I went though 1 years worth of photos deleting blurry / bad images to clear out space. Apparently we are accumulating 100-200 gigs of family photos per year.
I’m planning on building a rig to contain them all and needed to figure out how much space to plan for – and the answer is alot 🙂
Here are pics of Skylar at Clemyjontri Park in Mclean. The owner of Comstock’s father-in-law, aka the founder of NVR homes, dedicated the park via a donation of a few million bucks. It’s one of the nicest children’s parks in the U.S. with roughly an acre of padded walking, a carousel, and tons of giant size toys to play on.
Susan and I are struggling to choose a name for baby boy. They come home tomorrow so we’ll have to figure it out shortly.
This time around has been very different from before – at least for me. Having Skylar was an adventure. Sleeping at the hospital every night. Figuring out how to game the system to get extra diapers and food. Meeting with nurses and lactation consultants – first poops, first hair wash, figuring it all out.
I haven’t been a part of any of it this time. In 4 days I’ve gotten maybe 5 minutes to hold the baby. I’ve been at home with Skylar, and Susan is a pro at all the things we had to figure out the first time.
I’ve gotten more sleep but it’s been a lot more work. Trying to keep the house clean, Skylar fed, and traveling to and from the hospital has been exhausting in it’s own way.
Skylar and I have gotten some really good quality time. She and I definitely have a special bond and I’ve enjoyed my time with her.
I read an article by Mark Pinkus, founder of Zynga, where he said he took iphone 1 video a day of his kids. I’m going to try and do the same thing.
I always have my phone on me, and the video quality (if shot outdoors) is typically pretty good, so I plan on shooting one video per day and the following morning I’ll upload it or delete it.
I figured I would take a vid of Skylar swinging since we’ll probably have to move the swing soon. The whole tree sways as Skylar sways – check it out!
Capturing the elusive Skylar dance on video is not an easy task. We snuck into the habitat of a Skylar and waited for days before capturing this never before seen video footage.
The week before Easter we went to a Reston sponsored Easter egg hunt. You would think these eggs were made of gold, and that a thousand Kim Kardashians were hunting them. Every childs parents and grandparents were there with camera’s, video cameras, lighting equipment, and enough digital paraphernalia to make the paparazzi look like amateurs.
We patiently waited for the signal to proceed and then in a matter of seconds every egg disappeared from sight. Ok, we didn’t wait so patiently, Skylar went ahead and bagged a few eggs prior to the official start, but it’s a good thing she did because it was insanity!
We were so happy to have Nanna and Poppa D join us for such fun!
We’re taking the time machine on this one – back to December. Skylar loved her new stroller that Grammy Kim gave her. We couldn’t leave the house without it for about a month 🙂
Yogurt is so distressing when it sticks to your hands. Maybe that’s why they invented spoons… Deep thoughts by a 20 month old.
