Ride that train
I’ve heard the story at least a million times of how Gillette used to pull me around in a laundry basket and put books in it so I could “read” while I was traveling.
Skylar loves trains and somehow that morphed into going on a train ride around the house in the laundry basket. Parker kept trying to climb in so he got to be Skylar’s (the conductor) first passenger.

Cardboard Diaper Box-Play House
We recently received this huge box in the mail from Diapers.com and I thought it would be a fun morning project to create a little play house for Skylar. 20 minutes, scissors and some duct tape later….voila! She loved it….for 2 whole days 🙂She loves her little doll which she has with her in the cardboard house. Its the Berenguer Asian baby, and it looks exactly like Parker. He’s not allowed to wear any clothes though, I’m not sure why.

Preschool Prayer
Skylar has been singing a new song lately, especially at night, when she’s laying in bed trying to fall asleep and we couldn’t figure out the words. I finally broke down and asked her teacher. Here are the words (sung to “Are you sleeping”).

Christmas in Culpeper
Santa came a day early in Reston and we had our Christmas on the 24th. Christmas day we went to Culpeper. First to see my great grandfather (Pop Pop) and then to my dad’s and finally to Gillette’s house. Whew – what a day! Lot’s of fun and presents. Skylar was beginning to think that opening gifts was what you did everyday :). On the 26th she wanted to know where her gifts from Santa were…
