  • Skylar Birthday – tubing

    We went tubing down the Shenandoah River for Skylar’s birthday. Neither of the kids had wanted a “drive-by” birthday party where you sit in the front yard while your friends drive by in a car and shout “Happy Birthday”. I agree that seemed rather lame.

    After tubing we went to a Brewery at the top of a mountain with exquisite views of Loudoun. Then we headed home and had birthday cake and presents. Skylar’s favorite cake is Angel food cake with chocolate whipped cream, my grandmothers recipe and also my fav!

  • Skylar’s birthday party

    We had a water / dinosaur theme for Skylar’s 5th birthday party.  Her best friend Sydney also had a birthday in July and had recently moved to Annapolis, so they celebrated their birthdays together.

    Parker also had fun – although it can be hard to be a 3 year-old at your older sisters birthday party…

  • Parker’s Dol

    Parkers first birthday went quite smoothly.  Neither of the kids had any issue putting on the traditional Korean garb, which is almost unheard of.  Part of the tradition, as I understand it, is the screaming of the birthday child at having to wear a hanbok.

    Parker enjoyed his smash cake, and we probably gave him a full minute to relish in the sweet mess before extracting him from it.
