  • Heil Skylar

I suspect that the few readers of this blog are not familiar with the TV show Family Guy, nonetheless, Skylar does this Stewie-esque pose where she essentially says “Obey Me” Heil Hitler style.

Mixing babies with one of the worst atrocities in the 20th Centure may be politically incorrect, but I couldn’t resist.

    You will obey me now.
  • kAraTE SkyLAR

Do not touch my blanky.  The Skylar does not like it when you touch the blanky.  You must suffer the Skylar karate hack-saw punch!

  • Tom = baby jedi

Tom and family came by one night during the week 8/25 to see Skylar.  Susan immediately termed Tom the baby whisperer and now anytime Tom is within 50 feet of Skylar Susan attaches the baby to him.

Tom is really good with babies – that’s where I get it from obviously.

  • Grandma Kim

Susan had these ridiculous hand muffs that she put on Skylar so she wouldn’t scratch herself.  I guess they served a purpose, but they looked kind of funny and I felt bad for her because she was unable to use all her appendages.

Grandma Kim wanted some posed pics of her and the baby, so here you go:

  • Harris bath time

8/21/2010 Grandma and Grandpa Harris came to visit.  We had so many visitors coming by that I told Susan we had to put them to work if we were ever going to get anything done – so grandma gave Skylar a bath that night.  We love bath time, mainly because all Harris’ love the head rub…ahhh…head rubs…

  • Papa D and Skylar

Grandma and Papa D came to visit us in Reston on Friday, 8/6/2010.  Horace got lots of time with Skylar – so much that they both started sleeping on the sofa.  One may have been induced by a drink of bourbon on the rocks – I won’t say who.

  • Skylar poses for camera

Susan needed shots for our baby announcements, so I setup an impromptu photo session on the bed one Saturday morning.

  • Frog Baby

Tonight I was flipping through my Skylar pics and couldn’t believe how much she has grown in only 3 months.  I remember that first week of being home and thinking – it’s a miracle she survived us!

For the first month Skylar would curl up similar to how she had been in the womb.  She would cross her legs and pull them up into her body – looking like a little frog baby.  Susan kept pulling them down straight 🙂

Also, everybody in this family sports the hawk.  Checkout Skylars awesome spike frontside and profile!

  • Skylars first visitors

All the grandparents came by while we were in the hospital.  The second day was very busy as lots of people were coming and going.  Plus nurses and doctors come by every hour or two to check / probe / update you.  I think half the reason why they do it is to encourage you to leave 🙂

Here are some shots of Skylar and her visitors.  Apparently she thinks grandpa’s face is funny – so do we, nice pose dad!

  • Skylar’s do

We are officially 48 hours into being parents and Susan is doing great.  Breast feeding is not as natural an experience as one may think – there isn’t much that we as humans do instinctively, but Susan has got the flow – now we need Skylar to catch on.

After Skylar was born she didn’t get a bath until about 4:00am.  Prior to her bath I twisted the muck in her hair in beautiful little spikes.  This was my first attempt at doing her hair 🙂  I think I can handle this whole girl thing…
